The Joint Base Charleston Family Campground (or commonly referred to as FamCamp) is located on the Air Force base is open to retired Military members, 100% disabled veterans, Active DoD ID card holders and Active Duty Military members not stationed at or working on Joint Base Charleston.
We are now accepting reservations for the current month and the next 2 months. Please keep in mind reservations can only be made over the phone. To make reservations, call us at (843)-963-1732. You are still allowed to come in without a reservation as well, but if we cannot accommodate you in one of our 40+ full hook up sites with water, electric (30 & 50 amp) and sewer, you will be placed in overflow. Overflow includes water, electric (30 & 50 amp), and septic as well, with access to a dump station and bathroom facilities if needed. Please note that you are only able to make a reservation for up to two weeks over the phone.
Base Access
Please make sure you and ALL guests have a valid military ID before you arrive, being that the FamCamp is located on the Air Force Base. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE BASE ACCESS. To make sure you are eligible to access the base, please contact the Visitor's Center at (843)-963-5729 (This number is to ONLY check eligibility for base access, NOT FOR RESERVATIONS)

From Savannah/South: Take I-95 N to exit 33 for US-17 N. Proceed on US-17 N for 56 miles, then use right lane to take I-526 E (towards North Charleston). Follow I-526 E till I-26 and merge onto I-26 W (towards Columbia). Take exit 211A (towards Aviation Avenue & the Air Force Base). Follow all signs for base. Once on base, the campground will be your second right.
From Columbia, SC/North: From I-77, I-20 or I-95 take I-26 E (towards Charleston) and follow to exit 211A (towards Aviation Avenue & the Air Force Base). Follow all signs for base. Once on base campground will be your second right.
FAQs
How do I make a reservation? Can I make a reservation online?
To make a reservation, you would have to call us at (843)-963-1732/1672 any time Monday-Friday 0900-1700. Reservations are only taken over the phone and can not be made online or through email. Please note there is a $35 NON-REFUNDABLE reservation fee.
What are the rates? Are there weekly/monthly rates?
There are no weekly or monthly rates, it's just a flat rate per night.

We will only allow Dry Camping if our Park is FULL
Tent Camping (water and electric/TENTS & VEHICLES) - $20/night

What is the longest I can stay? Do you offer long-term stays?
Yes, we do offer long-term stays. The longest someone can stay is 180 days. However, with limited long-term spots, you will most likely have to be placed on a wait list. Once arrived to the campground, you can be placed on this wait list. Until you get a long term spot, you will be in our short-term spots where you can stay up to two weeks. After the two weeks is up, you will just move to another short term spot until the long term becomes available.
What time is check-in/check-out?
Check-in : any time after 1 p.m.
Check-out: any time before 12 p.m.
What if I arrive after hours?
No worries! We will give you a call the morning of to let you know what spot you will be in and you can just go directly to the spot and check-in in the morning at the ORC facility.
Do you allow pets?
Yes! We love pets, we just ask that you pick up after them and keep them on a leash when walking them in the campground. We also ask that you please do not leave them outside unsupervised.
